Pulp Infections and Root Canal

Root canal demo

Rio Grande Dental, an oral health practice in Juarez, Mexico, provides quality dental treatment at a fraction of the price Americans pay in the United States. Located conveniently close to El Paso, Texas, Rio Grande Dental allows American patients to travel to the practice to undergo procedures for a variety of conditions, including infections that necessitate a root canal

A tooth’s hard exterior protects a soft, vulnerable interior called the pulp, which is made of nerves and other important tissues. Sometimes bacteria gain entry into the interior of the tooth and infect the pulp, resulting in symptoms such as tooth sensitivity or aching.

Infections can eventually kill the pulp and spread the bacteria to healthy surrounding tissues. To end the infection and prevent escalation, a dentist may recommend a root canal.

In a root canal, a patient undergoes local anesthesia, and a dentist drills to access the pulp of the bad tooth. The dentist then extracts the infected and dying pulp.

After disinfecting the pulp chamber, the dentist fills the empty cavity and gives the patient a crown. The crown permanently covers the opening the dentist made to access the pulp chamber.
